For the new followers here, we’d like to reintroduce ourselves. We’re Cait + Mari 👋🏻 the two cousins behind The White Elephant.

15 years ago, we started refinishing furniture for our own homes because we loved the designer look but didn’t love the designer price tag. What started as a creative outlet quickly turned into friends asking us to do pieces for them, then strangers, then eventually a business we never expected.

With very little money but a whole lot of grit, we had our big debut 10 years ago this weekend at the Gaspee Arts & Crafts Festival. One thing led to another, and before we knew it, we were taking a giant leap of faith and opening The White Elephant.

Over the last 10 years, we’ve grown so much, not just as a business, but as people too. Through every late night, painted piece, market, move, and new chapter, we’ve stayed true to what we love most, blending old with new and creating a home that feels collected, timeless, and lived in.

This July, we’re celebrating 10 years of The White Elephant, and honestly, it still feels surreal to say that. We’re so grateful for every single person who has supported us along the way.

Save the date 📅 July 17th for our big bash, you won’t want to miss it! It’ll be one for the books and can’t wait to celebrate with you all!

Well… this isn’t exactly the curb appeal we had planned for today 🚧 🚜🦺

Our parking lot is currently being dug up, there are trucks everywhere, and access to the shop is limited. So we’ll be CLOSED today while the construction crew works.

Thanks for bearing with the chaos and supporting us through the mess. We’ll be back soon with less dirt and hopefully fewer orange cones.
