British Antique Wholesalers

British Antique Wholesalers Offering the finest in British and European antique furniture to dealers and interior designers. Mr. They have been inseparable since. Andy Holcombe

On special occasions we will open the doors to our unique warehouse to the public. British Antique Wholesalers was formed in the spring of 2013 by partners Jane Nolan and Andy Holcombe with two simple goals in mind; First, to import the finest and most complete cross section of English antique furniture to the United States. Secondly, to sell those pieces to dealers and interior designers at price

s below what it would cost to plan a trip to England, purchase the pieces then have them shipped back to the United States; alleviating the enormous cost of locating then shipping single items or the cash expenditures of purchasing an entire container full of antique furniture. Shifting the headaches and cost of dealing with customs onto ourselves. By now you must be saying to yourself “that all sounds amazing, but how on earth is this young upstart company able to pull off the bold claims made in the preceding paragraph?” That secret, dear reader comes down to one simple word, relationships. You see British Antique Wholesalers really began in the summer of 2010 when Andy met Jane through a mutual friend. At the time Jane was living in the northwest of England where her father also resides. Nolan has owned and operated an antique shop and has warehouses full, gathered over the last 40 or so years he has been in the business. Nolan previously lived in Atlanta where he owned a store front on Peachtree Street during the 70’s and established a customer base, before moving back to England in the 80’s. Andy, after getting to know Jane via email and phone conversations, flew over to England around Thanksgiving of 2010 and instantly fell in love with Jane in the baggage claim area of Manchester airport. Andy had always loved woodworking and has an eye for the artistry and craftsmanship of English antiques so an idea began to form in his mind; because of his relationship with Jane he started talking with Jane’s father about bringing some of the antiques he has in warehouses over from England to sell in Georgia. British Antique Wholesalers decided to forgo an expensive location and store front which would have to be passed on to you the customer and rented warehouse space in Newnan, Ga. Just 25 minutes south of the Atlanta airport. We don’t have the costly overhead some antique dealers have and must pass onto their customers, what we do have is the best in English antiques at prices you simply cannot find anywhere else, more than offsetting the cost and inconvenience of the short drive to our warehouse. So you see, British Antique Wholesalers is really about relationships; Andy’s relationship with Jane, her father, and you. What British Antique Wholesalers wants more than anything else is to build a relationship with YOU, the customer, we want to be the first place, the only place you think of, when you think of English antiques. We will strive with everything at our disposal to bring you the finest British antiques at prices you just can’t find anywhere else. Antiques are wonderful windows to the past, artistry, craftsmanship, beauty, and to the history preserved in pieces of furniture that are not only beautiful to look at, but functional as well. Own a piece of the Victorian lifestyle, own a piece of Edwardian culture, and own a piece of history. Take the short drive from Atlanta, come visit British Antique Wholesalers and take home a piece of yesterday. Craftsmen put together pieces of art; beautiful, wondrous, functional, museum quality furniture that has traveled the centuries to find its way into your home. We at British Antique Wholesalers want to be your key to unlock the world of eras gone by, craftsmanship, and wonder that is the beauty of English Antiques. So call us, make an appointment for a personal tour, and take home a piece of history.

Chanteloup Castle is an old castle, the 11th century, rebuilt in the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries, which stands on the French town of Chanteloup in the Manche department, in the Normandy region.

The manor is mentioned for the first time, in 1022, in a charter for the benefit of the abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel.

It is owned by the Chanteloup family who have allied themselves with the Paynel family. At the beginning of the 15th century, Folco IV Paynel, Baron of Hambye and Bricquebec, Lord of Chanteloup of Moyon of credits, of Apilly (Saint-Senier-sous-Avranches), the Merlerault and Gace, is a powerful Lord of Normandy, banneret knight who gathers under his arms, four bachelors and ten to fourteen squires. His brother Nicole Paynel will succeed him whose daughter Jeanne Paynel will bring the castle of Chanteloup as a dowry to Louis d'Estouteville, the defender of Mont-Saint-Michel during the English assault of 1434, when he was in possession of the castle. The latter had the masonry and the repaired fence, which had been battered during the Hundred Years War. Antoine d'Estouteville, lord of Chanteloup from 1517 to 1556, abandoned the old castle, around 1520, for a new main building rebuilt in the medieval enclosure he occupied with his wife Isabeau de Carbonnel, daughter of the lord of Cerences.

We at British Antique Wholesalers appreciate all our fans. We have for all intents and purposes closed the doors to our dream. We are however, leaving open the possibility of trying again in a different location, possibly St. Augustine, Florida but it will be at least a year before we can try again. We learned very valuable and expensive lessons but they will not be forgotten and will give us a much better vision and clearer direction. I look forward to the time when I can announce the opening of THE best place in the United States to purchase English Antiques! For now peace be yours and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support!
