Doko tables, credenzas, and waste receptacles are all about curves.

Table bases feature sculptural solid wood ribs, some of which even remove without tools for wire management access. Tabletops, credenzas, and waste receptacles also feature radiused corners, with cabinetry having curved doors.

A Boston reception desk designed by Gensler and built by Mark Richey Woodworking features Nero Atlantis marble, specialty glass, metal mesh, bronze, and laminate for a layered, texture-rich look fitting for the building’s art deco design.

On the user side, monitor wells lower technology to be out of view from the desk front and functional storage is provided.

The project further featured an accent wall and credenza behind the desk.

Mark Richey Woodworking had the honor of working with HITT Contracting to bring architect Hickok Cole’s landmark design for the National Geographic Museum of Exploration in Washington, D.C., to life.

The incredible, new museum opens to the public on June 26.

Visitors will see stunning sculptural walls and ceilings crafted from stack laminated solid wood from New England. Ash trees from Vermont and New Hampshire were used in the space and years of craftsmanship took place at Mark Richey Woodworking in Massachusetts.
