Brooklyn Reclaimed specializes in the design and construction of hand­crafted furniture from the highest quality reclaimed wood available. Over 20 years of carpentry experience alongside a sincere desire to preserve and restore “old Brooklyn” are what makes Brooklyn Reclaimed one of a kind in NYC. History

Our neighborhood operation was born out of M. Fine Lumber, a Brooklyn-based lumber co

mpany that’s been artfully recycling lumber in New York for over 80 years. Current M. Fine CEO Merritt Fine has teamed up with master woodworkers with over 20 years of experience to build a small, caring company which puts the finest historic wood back into circulation. The Craftsmen

New York is the country’s largest repository of the lumber that formed the spine of the Industrial Revolution — a five-borough safe deposit box for New England white pine and spruce, Pacific Northwest Douglas fir and, especially, Southern longleaf pine.

Seen here is some Southern longleaf pine in the middle of our milling process. We are beyond lucky to have access to such great material.

The clean face, southern yellow pine, AKA heart pine, exemplifies the amazing tight grain quality of this old growth. It is an extremely durable lumber - comparable to any hardwood as far as toughness and stability are concerned. It is a beautiful wood, ranging from a dark rich amber to various shades of golden yellow, deep- orange and red-browns.
