Shakúff’s design philosophy is simple: we see creation as an act of collaboration. Each fixture we create for a client is a synthesis of mutual discovery, planning, and genesis so that each piece represents an alignment of vision. Our own collections seek to discover and enhance the natural beauty of light, never distorting or overpowering it. More than an art, we believe glass blowing is a craft.

Designed and developed for the Capital One Lounge, JFK Terminal 4, these bespoke lighting installations were commissioned to transform the space into a warm and inspiring destination for travelers.

In the entry seating area, the Crystal Rock installation forms a sculptural composition of custom-colored glass pendants that capture a sense of fluidity and movement. Suspended above the bar, an 18-foot chandelier composed of over 2,000 hand-blown glass elements and brass spheres creates a blooming structure that brings warmth, scale, and atmosphere to the space.

Featured here are moments from the official ribbon-cutting with JFK Terminal 4 CEO Roel Huinink and the opening of the Capital One Lounge in summer 2025, along with a VIP event celebrating this collaboration and project completion.

Installation at the Capital One Lounge, JFK Terminal 4.

Following the journey from the Shakúff showroom to site installation, this dramatic chandelier spans 18 feet and features over 2,000 hand-blown glass elements paired with brass spheres and integrated LED technology, forming a branching, blooming composition suspended above the bar.

The installation was developed in collaboration with design teams and the design team, who worked alongside Shakúff throughout the design and fabrication process, spending time in the showroom and engaging in the development of the installation as it took shape from studio to site.

The project was led by Shakúff founder and CEO Joseph Sidof alongside in-house product designer Sophia Han, with senior engineer Erno Saller leading the engineering and technological development behind the installation.

The completed installation can now be seen at the Capital One Lounge, Terminal 4 JFK Airport.
