What do smoke-breathing skateboards šŸ‰, robots that draw portraits and robots that dance, and pipe organs have in common? They were all part of Show and Tell Night at Fat Cat Fab Lab! Our maker resident along with Members Brooke, Brendan,, and Angelina showed off their incredible projects to Members and the Public and we had a blast!

Meet Janaki Ranpura, Fat Cat Fab maker-in-residence!

As maker-in-residence, Janakiā€™s
project points to another kind of intelligence ā€” cultural intelligence, which sometimes expresses itself as prejudice ā€” as a force that sways how we evaluate the world. Janakiā€™s work aims to use machines to show how we influence each other via old codes, which are ways of knowing that hold us together socially.

ā€œGenerational Chatterā€ will eventually be a wall installation of talking faces that reacts to people who approach.
