“Contribute to Jerard Studio: You can help John Jerard and Mary Creede recover in the aftermath of the devastating fire in their studio building in Red Hook. The fire happened in September, and while our space did not burn, the smoke and water damage is extensive, as is the wreckage from firefighting efforts. In the weeks and months since, we have been working hard to salvage what we can and fulfill some contracts in another space.

Now, three months later, we are still facing new and unforeseen expenses related to salvage, storage, repairs, and the process of setting up in a new location. These costs are significant and were not something we could have anticipated at the time of the fire. In response to encouragement from our friends and supporters, and because of these ongoing challenges, we are reaching out for help. These expenses will significantly compromise our resources, and every bit of support will help us recover and continue our creative work.

So to all those who reached out, here’s your opportunity to pitch in. We appreciate any contribution, including good wishes, as we work to restore Jerard Studio and move forward.”

We are super excited to be taking part in this year’s this weekend, and want to invite you all to come and stop by at Jerard Studio and see what we are making! 🎈

At the studio you’ll find us working with a variety of media, making anything from fake food, custom props, puppets, costume armatures, sculptures and even furniture.

Our doors will be open this Saturday October 5th and Sunday 6th from 1 to 6pm, with lots of art around, good music on the radio, drinks, you can meet owners and team, and have a look at what our creative process looks like here at Jerard Studio!

Follow the red balloons and signs for us, we are located in 481 Van Brunt street on the top floor , and you can also find us on the online map at Red Hook Open Studios website: (https://www.redhookopenstudios.com/map-of-participants), or pick up of the printed maps at the Food Bazaar and other participating studios. 📍
