Next week at Print Center New York, we talk Parasol Press with Rachel Vogel and Judy Hecker!

In conjunction with the exhibition Parasol Press: Breaking New Ground, currently on view at Print Center New York, join us and the Association of Print Scholars () for a virtual presentation by Rachel Vogel, Assistant Curator at the Addison Gallery of Art (), followed by a dialogue with Judy Hecker, Executive Director Emerita of Print Center New York ().

This virtual talk will take place on zoom, Wednesday, October 28, 4–5PM. Register via Zoom through the programs page on our website.

Founded in New York in 1970 by Bob Feldman, Parasol Press quickly established itself as a platform for innovative print publishing by pairing Conceptual and Minimal artists with master printers such as Kathan Brown of Crown Point Press (). In this talk, Vogel and Hecker will dive into the exhibition’s most technically daring and innovative editions and discuss how Feldman championed artists and printers and left a lasting impression on American printmaking.

New event FOR MEMBERS this week!

Thursday, October 22 at 11AM: Join us for a private tour of the New York showroom of Zuber (), the last manufacturer in the world still hand-printing panoramic and scenic wallpapers from woodblocks. Founded in Rixheim (Alsace, France) in 1797, Zuber continues to create intricately designed wallpapers using the same tools crafted at the time of its founding. In this special guided visit with Zuber specialists, look closely at wallpapers and learn more about Zuber’s history and historical wallpaper printing processes.

This event is open to Print Center New York Members at any level. Not a member already? Visit our website in our bio to sign up.

In conjunction with Open House New York (), join us for a family-friendly, hands-on rubber stamp workshop, inspired by prints from the Rubber Stamp Portfolio on view in the exhibition Parasol Press: Breaking New Ground. Produced in 1977, the original portfolio encompassed 13 prints by renowned Conceptual artists using rubber stamps. After an introduction to the portfolio project, participants can create their own edition using a variety of rubber stamps and inks.

The workshop will be held on Saturday, October 17. Drop in anytime 2–5PM. No experience is necessary and all ages are welcome. Materials will be provided. Registration encouraged but not required.

Last call to apply for our 2027 cycle of New Voices! Apply by 11:59PM this Wednesday, September 30 to be considered for our next artist cohort.

New Voices is Print Center New York’s annual open call program that provides opportunities for a small, curator-selected cohort of U.S.–based emerging artists. Artists present their work and develop their practices through a group exhibition, artist-led public programming, focused conversation and community-building, and individualized resources for artistic and professional development.

This year’s cycle will be led by Heather Hughes, Kathy and Ted Fernberger Associate Curator of Prints at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The curatorial framework is Renewal.

Selected artists will receive/participate in:
– A Group Exhibition (anticipated June–August, 2027)
– An Artist Cohort Intensive (anticipated early June, 2027, dates TBA)
– Leading a Public Program of their design
– Artistic and Professional Development

Don’t miss this chance to share your voice with the thriving printmaking community of New York City and beyond!

There are less than two weeks left to apply for our 2027 cycle of New Voices, and this years’ curatorial framework is RENEWAL.

Printmakers have renewed their work since the beginning of the practice, whether modifying matrices from first proof to final edition, reinterpreting the same motifs with the advent of new technologies, or incorporating discarded materials into fresh compositions.

Renewal asks emerging artists working in print: rather than starting over, where do we go from here, and what can be made from what we already have? How can a return to the past help us navigate the present, or develop solutions for the future?

Applications are FREE and close September 30. Don’t wait, this is your chance to share your creative voice with the thriving printmaking scene of New York City and beyond!

Visit the LINK IN OUR BIO to apply. For more information, visit the New Voices 2027 page on our website.
