POV: You attend one of Adventure Society fireside chats.
Last week, Adventure Society had a Fireside Chat featuring Ambre Hasson, a French-American offshore sailor and skipper building her campaign for the 2028 Vendée Globe, the world's toughest solo sailing race. Ambre aims to become the first American woman to complete it. Last year she crossed the Atlantic completely alone on a 21-foot boat.
The conversation was hosted by Laura Varela, a 2024 U.S. Women's Sailing Champion and Adventure Society member, with the Google NY Sailing Club, the Brooklyn sailing community, and a room full of incredible people.
Set against the backdrop of Wagner Pavilion Classroom in Battery Park with the water just outside, the energy in that room matched the story being told. Resilience. Decision making under pressure. The pursuit of goals that most people would call impossible. Ambre delivered all of it and then some.
This is exactly why we love our partnership with Adventure Society. Chris Holman, Juan Feeney, and Juan Pablo Andrade have built something truly special: a community that does not just talk about living fully but actually goes out and does it. And we get to be the team behind the camera capturing all of it.
Here’s to many more evenings like this one!
