Fort Standard’s new collection entitled “Qualities of Material” further explores the experimental dimension of the duo’s process by pushing natural materials beyond conventional limits and applications. Having studied Industrial Design together at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, Buntain and Collings became close friends when they were selected to study product design at the Bauhaus University in Weimar Germany for a semester. Graduating in 2008, Buntain and Collings continued to hone their design and furniture making skills before founding Fort Standard in 2011.
