Our KAY collection is unquestionably defined by its deliberately oversized, handwoven french cane-style backrest crafted from all-weather wicker. KAY combines timeless style with practical comfort. Pair KAY with our AMBIENT RAY lanterns that both inspire and illuminate like the beams of sunlight breaking through gathering clouds for a striking silhouette.

Our ARCHI chairs combine a minimalist aesthetic with notes of mid-century architecture that feels at home in any contemporary or classic space. ARCHI cleverly utilizes two elemental materials — handwoven outdoor rope and our signature buffed teak. The result is a Scandinavian meets Shaker design that is as perfectly refined as it is striking.

Our CLIPPER dining table's nod to nautical heritage is no accident. It's slatted solid teak design takes inspiration from the teak decking on the fastest and finest vessels of yesteryear that helped open trade routes across the globe⏤Clipper ships.

When functionality is key and simplicity is the only design cue needed, GRID's elementary format is the perfect solution for deeply comfortable seating in a stylish world.

Materials matter. Our GRID side and coffee tables, designed by Henrik Pedersen, are crafted using durable, weatherproof materials that will withstand the test of time (and design). Their frames, made from powder coated aluminum, are resistant to knocks, scratches, moisture pe*******on, and corrosion. We’ve paired them with a ceramic surface that is not only harder than granite and easy to clean, but is also impervious to chemicals, UV and heat damage, and frost.

Our BELLS side tables take their name directly from their inspiration⏤two bells joined together. Designer Henrik Pedersen sought to ensure that form follows function as the organic, flowing lines of this side table actually house an integrated ice bucket within its teak-topped aluminum frame. Swipe to see why the BELLS side table makes certain that a cold beverage is never far from your favorite chair.

50 years. It sounds like a lifetime, yet in many ways it comes around in the blink of an eye...
...We first started making furniture exactly fifty years ago in West Africa in 1960. Firstly just for local market consumption but then, when we realized we were actually quite good at it, for export to Europe. From the start we were always both environmentally and ethically aware - we even used the discarded branches and tree stumps, which would otherwise have been burnt, to make the smaller components. Within ten years we became the largest furniture producer in Africa supplying
components and finished furniture to many of the top indoor brands in Europe.
Thirty years ago, in 1981, we started the Gloster brand. From quite humble roots, we manufactured traditional teak garden benches in Bristol, England and once again were soon exporting our furniture all around the world. In the 1970’s we transferred our African factory’s expertise to Asia so that we could have access to the plantation grown teak that was only available in Indonesia. Over the 80’s and 90’s Gloster grew to be the principle high end world wide brand for teak outdoor furniture. At the end of the 1990’s Gloster diversified into different types of furniture and now, fifty years since we started, we are worldwide leaders in teak, woven, aluminium, stainless steel and now outdoor lounge furniture.
Many competitors have come and gone in this time, yet Gloster, just like our furniture, endures. And, as it was right at the start, we remain committed to green and ethical policies in everything we do. We have made over 10 million pieces of furniture in the last fifty years and our furniture can be found in over 50 countries. During this time we have manufactured in 10 different countries, worked with over 20 designers from 5 continents and used the most bewildering array of timbers and materials to produce some of the finest indoor and outdoor furniture. Each piece has been carefully designed and expertly manufactured to bring long lasting pleasure and enjoyment to all that
use it.
We are glad you can join in our 50th birthday celebration and look forward with us to the next fifty years.
