Rainbow Leather We specialize in printed & embossed designs on leather, cork & fabrics, servicing the handbag, shoe, interior, and upholstery furniture industries.

Rainbow Leather was founded in the 1970s by my father Samuel Lipson. Using what he had learned from his father, a tanner in Poland, he began printing designs on leather out of his home, an innovative process at this time, and eventually started his own business: Rainbow Leather. Today, the second-generation family business remains a leader and innovator in the printing and embossing of custom leat

hers, while expanding to other materials including cork, fabric, urethane, burlap, plastic, and suede. Upon arriving at Rainbow Leather, located in College Point, Queens, many designers—in the shoe, handbag, accessory, and furniture industries—and individuals alike describe feeling “like a kid in a candy store.” And if they still don’t see exactly what they’re looking for, we turn to our mantra, “Your vision, our creation,” providing completely custom digital and embossed designs. Our unique creations can also be viewed, by appointment, in our studio showroom in NYC (555 8th Avenue). Custom products, trend forecasting, and flexible turnaround times have all contributed to the company’s success.
