Custom furniture should respond to the architecture, not fight it.

For this Long Branch residence, we furnished the entire first floor and primary bedroom with pieces designed around the home itself.

A custom sofa follows the angles of the architecture, while nesting brass-and-glass side tables, a tiered coffee table, dining seating and lighting repeat those geometric cues throughout the space. Materials, dimensions and finishes could all be adjusted around what the project required.

A look inside a recent project in West Long Branch, NJ.

For the first floor, we provided a mix of custom furniture including the blue sofa with its floating brass base, dining seating, an area rug, armchairs, consoles and tables.

Throughout the home, different materials, finishes and colors were selected to work together while still giving each space its own character.

Ocasa Living grew out of a problem Jack kept running into on his own design projects.

He could picture the exact piece he wanted, but finding it in the right size, material and finish was another story. So he started producing custom furniture for his clients, beginning with dining chairs and armchairs before expanding into tables, sectionals, rugs and decorative lighting.

What started as a solution for his own projects became a resource for other interior designers facing the same problem. Today, designers can bring Ocasa an idea, reference or existing piece and work with the team to adapt it for their project.

Ocasa Living started with a desire to make more ambitious furniture designs possible.

With an architectural background, Jack was drawn to pieces that combined materials like wood, brass, stone and upholstery. But producing them often meant coordinating several different vendors.

He spent years building the relationships and production network needed to bring those materials together through one source. That process became the foundation of Ocasa Living.
