As part of our `Forrest in Bloom´ display at the Holiday House Hamptons, we will showcase each carefully selected furniture piece.
This sculptural set of six dining chairs was designed by Giuseppe Scapinelli, crafted from the finest Caviuna wood. Each chair features a gracefully sculpted backrest, curved tapered legs, and newly upholstered seats in an off-white textured boucle. Originally from a private residence in Rio de Janeiro, these chairs showcase the craftsmanship and refined aesthetic that have made Brazilian mid-century design highly sought after worldwide.
Alongside them, a striking set of eight rosewood dining chairs radiates the same sense of sophistication and allure. Each chair presents a tall, intricately shaped backrest and a well-proportioned seat, newly reupholstered in a soft, textured linen that complements the warmth of the wood. Expertly refinished and sourced from a private residence in Brasília, this set embodies the harmony of form and function that defines the golden era of Brazilian modernism.
Completing the ensemble is a one-of-a-kind reeded dining table designed by Giuseppe Scapinelli in the 1950s. Crafted from luxurious Caviuna wood, the table features an extendable top with curved edges and four reeded tapered legs, all showcasing the richness of the wood’s natural grain. Beautifully refinished and in excellent condition, this rare piece exemplifies Scapinelli’s masterful ability to balance sculptural presence with timeless functionality.
These are not only functional works of art but also remarkable investment pieces that bring sophistication, history, and character to any interior.
