From the HUGS Writers Desk, for the first time, we have posted to our writing staff to give us insight as to who they saw for the 2024 Year as the one....

As songwriters, we try to write about things that are important to us: a point of view, a story, a feeling. And we create, hoping that our work will be heard and connect with someone on the other end of that radio-wave rainbow. For most of us, it’s not about financial gain, but the love of creating and performing. Sometimes our songs DO connect, and in big ways. Our listeners understand that same point of view, story, or feeling in their own lives, and they create their own interpretation to the words and melodies, and add their own feelings of connection. And that’s when the work we put in as songwriters becomes so special and even more meaningful to us.

The song chosen for the Inaugural Hugs Writers Choice Award has strong emotions and feelings. Most of us may not have experienced the story of the song yet, but we can all relate to it. The story is melancholy, and yet powerfully hopeful with longing, remembrance, and honoring. It paints all manners of pictures through its beautiful melodies and lyrics, and is certainly worthy of being recognized for its excellence.

The Inaugural Hugs 2024 Writer’s Choice Award is presented to “Autumn Fall” from Brandon Hixson.

This year held so many surprises for everyone... From the Best Male artist to the Song of the Year.. There was only one category that was deadlocked.. For that reason, HUGS recognized both the HUGS League of Extraordinary Persons and the Peoples Choice Polls.. The Best Male Artist of the 2024 Year.. To Both of of our HUGS Artist's that managed to go to the wire neck & neck... Mr. Brandon Hixson and Adam Harbison, even I would not want to choose between these two.. Congratulations to both of you !!

The HUGS TOP 10 for this week have opened the eyes and ears of sooooo many!! Now's the Time and LYRICS OF TWO have staked their first Number #1 Track at HUGS !! And just ask around... It takes something to make that happen!! Congrats.. A Star Like You, just refuses to let up as it marches up once again !! Dave Stanley Daoust's GIVE ME THE NEEDLE just keeps finding new fans, listeners and let's face it... I don't think that this track has peeked at all... Adam Harbison is BACK... His track LIKE HONEY snagged the Number 10 slot, and a ton of comments about this guys vocal feelings... That makes him a force to be reckoned with, but All of the above better ready for the coming week as a Newbie by the name DRY LIGHTNING, and the Track FLAG OF CONVENIENCE has announced its presence with authority after a 16 slot jump landed them at #9 !!! Once again, getting here is one thing... Sticking around is a whole different story !!! Congrats
