Must admit………sometimes I’m pretty pleased with my work. Just a simple bath vanity made with wood that I’ve stored for 35 years. 300 year-old sinker cypress.

Pretty ironic, I used to produce baby cribs, now 30 years later I’ve made my first cypress casket (circle of life thing, you know?) I must say I’m fairly pleased.

So, it’s “do some nice work for your relatives” week.
This is an island for an outdoor kitchen In Lafayette.
It happens to belong to my brother Gary and my sister in law Laurie Vial Wilkerson. It’s constructed entirely from antique and sinker cypress, not one nail was used in the primary construction. The legs are comprised from a tree which is estimated at 500 years old (Yes…. I did the math).
