Your Phone Can Recognize Your Face. Your Mattress Still Needs Flipping?
It's 2026. Our cars can park themselves, robots vacuum our floors, and our phones recognize us even before we've had our morning coffee.
Yet some people are still wrestling a king-size mattress around the bedroom like they're training for WrestleMania.
Why? Because we were told flipping our mattresses would make them last longer.
But think about your couch cushions. If the foam starts wearing out, does flipping the cushion magically make it new again?
Of course not. The same goes for mattresses. Flipping can spread out wear, but it doesn't restore worn-out materials.
Here's something you might not know.
In 2000, Simmons introduced the no-flip Beautyrest mattress. Other manufacturers followed, and today most mattresses are designed to sleep on just one side.
That's 26 years ago!
Some mattresses still benefit from being rotated from head to foot, but flipping most modern mattresses is unnecessary.
So go ahead. Retire from competitive mattress flipping.
Your back will appreciate it. And your bedroom furniture might survive a little longer.
At Naples Mattress, we've been helping Southwest Florida sleep better since 2007. Sometimes that means finding you a better mattress. Sometimes it means saving you a household chore.
