There’s an AWM meeting tomorrow at 5 pm! Anyone is welcome so bring your friends! We will be finalizing our t-shirt design!

For the month of October, AWM is collected canned goods and other nonperishable foods to donate to Racers Helping Racers, the on-campus food pantry for student. Food insecurity is very common, especially among college students, so we are setting up bins in Faculty Hall to collect donations, one on the 1st floor lobby and one in the Math Department on the 6th floor! Please share with your friends and contribute what you can to help our fellow racers!

Come join AWM for a hike at Land Between the Lakes to kick off fall! We will be meeting at faculty hall at 1 pm this Saturday then drive to LBL. Bring plenty of water and good walking/hiking shoes! DM us if you have any questions!

Recruitment Officer: Adam Williams
Adam is a junior with a major in Applied Mathematics. He is from Russellville, KY, and he joined AWM because it is a great club that supports fostering relationships between other math enthusiasts, math majors, and faculty.

Social Media Coordinator: Elina Fochtman
I am a Sophomore majoring in Mathematics and Organizational Communication. I am from Louisville, KY. I decided to join AWM because women are tremendously underrepresented in all STEM fields, especially Math. I appreciate that AWM creates a great support network for students that support women in Mathematics on Murray State’s campus.

Secretary: Nicholas Gaubatz
Nicholas is a Junior Mathematics major with a minor in Computer Science. He is from Fairview, IL. Nicholas joined AWM because he thinks that it is a great way to get involved in the math department and to meet new people! He also thinks that AWM is a great opportunity to know people outside of class and to form a community of like-minded, math enthusiasts.

Vice President: Jaylee Baker
Jaylee is a Freshman majoring in Applied Mathematics. She is from Somerset, KY. Jaylee joined AWM because she believes it is important to promote women in STEM, and because she is passionate about the mathematics. Jaylee also loves reading, spending time in nature, and hanging out with her 3 dogs.

President: Claire Umstead
Claire is a senior bio/pre-med with minors in bio mathematics and chemistry. She is from Murray, KY. She has done research in biology, chemistry, and mathematics. Claire joined AWM because she wanted to join a community in math that also uplifts women. Claire made it a priority to surround herself with others that wanted to promote women in math because women are underrepresented in Math and other STEM fields.
