Wanted to give everyone an update on the Chair Guy...

He is doing pretty good. He ended up having 6 compression fractures total. He's had 3 kyphoplasty surgeries to cement those. (How did he do 14 chairs in October?) He's had his first stem cell transplant (sct) at the beginning of February. We are home recouping and getting ready for the second sct, which will be at the very end of April. He is having chemo between the two transplants (called bridging) to keep the cancer cells at bay. It is still a long road ahead, but we are feeling good about where we are so far. UAMS myeloma cancer institute has been wonderful and we have a great doctor and support team.

Thank you to all who have sent messages and included him in your prayers. We have been uplifted and can't wait to get back to the chairs! And back to the Ozark Folk Center!

The chair guy hurt his back. After x-ray, MRI and bone density it was determined that he had 2 compression fractures and osteoporosis. He had the vertabraplasty on the 2 fractures. The doctor doing the procedure took bone fragments to do a biopsy. Terry has been diagnosed with stage 3A Multiple Myeloma. We have a wonderful oncologist and the best Myeloma Center at UAMS. They are the leading research facility in the country in regards to myeloma. The treatment will be very aggressive and those myeloma cells won't know what hit them! He will have chemo and he will have 2 stem cell transplants. He will not be taking any chairs for repair until further notice, sorry for any inconvenience.
