It has been no secret, since I have been so transparent..that my stores are struggling. ALL SMALL BUSINESSES ARE STRUGGLING. I have been so very open, real, and raw about these issues that all of our businesses are facing, while so many are struggling…suffering…and stressing in silence. When I do that however, I also take into consideration the mindset of the average customer. PEOPLE ARE STRUGGLING TO JUST LIVE THEIR NORMAL EVERYDAY LIVES. I too am also an average customer. There’s a lot of assumptions that go on usually, that a small business owner is well off just because they own a business. I am telling you that many times this could not be further from the truth. Many of us business owners are simply someone that had a dream, knew that we were willing to work our asses off for it, and refused to listen to the naysayers when they told us that we couldn’t do it. 20 years ago, I had a husband, that looked me in my face and told me that I wasn’t smart enough to have my own business. And for a very long time, I believed those words. That of course is what he believed and wanted me to believe though. Then while not even realizing… I was already building my own clientele and decorating business right out of my home. So when I am speaking to you all this morning, please know that this…this transparency and openness, is my way of FIGHTING for what I have worked so crazy hard for and literally started with nothing! Boro Girl Boutique literally started on my own front porch of a house that I was renting, started it with only $600 and by creating this very page. I am not a wealthy woman and starting this business has NOT made me a wealthy woman. I’ve had to try to navigate too many natural disasters, pandemics, a divorce, and economic downfalls in this 7 years to even try to exist and be relevant. The Swansboro store is starting to pick up, 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 because of the average daily foot traffic that goes on downtown. It still is nowhere near what it needs to be or can be, but I definitely see that it is starting to pick up. Sadly, though I’m reaching out to all of you this morning because Cedar Point is indeed struggling. *Full transparency* The Cedar Point store for the last three weeks has barely had it’s days to generate more than about $90 a day through the week. That nowhere near covers it’s daily operational costs. The Saturdays have ALWAYS generated anywhere from $1200-2000+ and they are barely reaching $3-400 now if even that. I for sure don’t have to talk numbers with the general public, but I’m trying to give a better understanding as I am asking for you all to come out and continue to support us so that we can try to make it. WE NEED YOU. So I’m going to do something that I have never EVER done! This week to show the appreciation that I have on such a major level for all of the customers that have supported me through this journey, everything in the Cedar Point building will be 20% off. EVERYTHING. ALL WEEK. ONLY AT THE CEDAR POINT STORE!!!! I never run these “across-the-board“ sales, because of course as you all know… I support and sell for so many local artists. It’s always just been too difficult to try to talk that many artists into simultaneously giving discounts so that we could do a storewide sale. I, however this morning while having my coffee have decided that percentage will just have to come out of the amount that they pay the store to sell for them. So in doing this, please understand, that this does not help me personally unless my items are also selling, but it definitely will create an influx for all of the artists and the stores overhead to try to see, some kind of spark. It gets y’all in the doors, which we for sure need, and it rewards all of you at the same time for having loved and supported us as tremendously as you already have. ❤️ I have some very hard decisions to keep making as I go forward of course, but y’alls love and support has ALWAYS made things so much easier. I love you all, just keep loving us and praying for things to turn around for ALL OF US. 🙏🏻💪🏼
