When you have a condo just a few blocks from the lake and want it to feel like you’re living right on the water, sometimes all it takes is refreshing the materials inside. Before and after photos included!

It’s not often I have a customer who truly loves the existing kitchen layout and simply wants to refresh the cabinet doors and drawer fronts — but what an incredible difference it made. A huge thank you to Zuehlsdorf Woodworking out of West Allis for the meticulous upgrade of the cabinet doors, drawer fronts, hinges, drawer glides, and island paneling, giving this kitchen an entirely new life. Paired with real terra cotta backsplash tile and stunning quartzite countertops that resemble the movement of lake waves, the transformation feels both timeless and serene.

Next, we moved into the upstairs main bath, which received a beautiful refresh with a new vanity, lighting, mirror, tile flooring, and a gorgeous soldier-stacked blue subway tile tub surround.

Just down the hall, the primary bathroom now showcases custom teal-green cabinetry that perfectly complements the herringbone-tiled shower and new glass door.

It is always fun when a customer wants something new that we have not done before. A full-on craft room with built in laundry!!
Since we were going to be there, she decided to do the bathroom and fireplace room as well.
Love when people do what they need/want to do to age out in their current home!! That is what homes are for.
I am mad at myself that I don't have any before pictures of these spaces, but the end product is worth posting.

Since a lot of us used our kitchens last week- I thought it was a good time to show a kitchen remodel. I never know if I should put all the old pictures and new pictures together, so I decided to do a mix of both in this post.

TILE TRENDS!!!
It's like Christmas for me when vendors send me their newest products. What are some of the trends that we are starting to see for 2026?
No worries, the Spa/Scandinavian feel is still going strong. But we are starting to see it done with modern "wood looking" large scale tiles and smaller subway tiles that are stacked and have more of a handmade feel and variation of color within them.
But don't worry, other colors are also making a strong come back too. New blues, greens and even reds!!!
You can't go wrong no matter what your style, as long as the overall theme of your new tile is TEXTURE, TEXTURE, TEXTURE!!!!

IT'S A BATHROOM WEEK!!!
Sadly, not all damage can be found/seen during inspections when buying a new to you house.
When this customer called to have the bathroom redone, we were blown away at what was found.
When something like this happens and you are feeling the stress of it all. I say lets make it the most peaceful and relaxing space possible for you when it is done.
There a few first in this bathroom-
a DOUBLE SIDED VANITY!!! and
a TUB in front of a shower.
I have been waiting to do both of these ideas in a bathroom and they both happened to fit within the space and the customers wants.

THIS IS THE WAY TO DOWNSIZE!!!
When you don't want to worry about yard work, home maintenance and you just want a view to the lake. The only thing to do is remodel your entire new home so all you have to do is relax.

With every project that we do, there is always something new that we get to try- This one was how do we add a shower when we are not allowed to cut open the floor because of the units below us.
How you ask-
You build a platform and step into your NEW shower!!! (See picture #2)
This full remodel has all new layout, floors, cabinets, windows doors...everything so the owners can be worry free for many years to come.
What a great place to just be!!

NO JOKE
We did not move a wall, door opening or window to create this transformation. It is always so AMAZING to me what a little creativity and rethinking of a space can do to the functionality of a home.
The amount of added storage, flat countertop space, backsplash height and all full-size appliances to this 8.5' x 13' Kitchen is UNBELIEVABLE.
I posted the before pictures of each wall then the after so you can see that no major construction was done.
I LOVE all of my jobs and customers but when I am able to make this big of a change in a space, even I am shocked 😂😂

I SO ENJOY when we get refresh interior design jobs. It is amazing how a few hours of work and new pieces can change the overall feel of a space. The before and after pictures were taken on the fly by me but I just could not help but post them.
