A Kitchen Remodel: Bernadette’s Dream, Pete’s Craftsmanship
Bernadette didn’t just remodel her kitchen—she reimagined the way her home feels and lives.
Inspired by visits to New York City with her daughter Daisy—especially restaurants in the West Village—she set out to capture that same warmth, coziness, and quiet sophistication she so loves.
Working with her cabinetmaker, Pete, the process unfolded with an ease that comes from shared trust and a clear vision. Her ideas took shape through layers: white oak and brick, quartz countertops paired with stunning tiles, modern appliances highlighted by refined lighting, and purposefully placed black accents—subtle nods to the decorative boldness she admires in her favorite places.
Collected pottery from her travels and heirlooms from her grandmother are displayed in upper, lighted cabinets, each framed like artwork. With room left to grow her collection, the kitchen remains deeply personal and never static.
In the dining room stands a grand custom hutch, brought to life by Pete and his craftsmen. Its presence creates a sense of continuity, tying the spaces together with elegance and purpose.
The results are a space that feels intentional, inviting, and just a little hard to leave.
