Please help support our local shelter where we adopted our pup Rocky and we’ll be adopting from again this summer!
Thank you sooo much to everyone who donated!! Swabs and blood tests were collected today and we are thrilled to be able to have the funds to send them all off! We appreciate everyone more than you will ever know!!
‼️We are begging for your help right now.‼️
This is one of the hardest posts we’ve ever had to make.
We have had a puppy in our care test positive for canine distemper. There is a small chance this could be vaccine interference… but with each passing hour, that possibility is becoming less likely.
Right now, we are working closely with our local veterinarian and UT Shelter Medicine specialists to determine our next steps—but time is not on our side.
To protect the rest of the dogs and puppies in our care, we urgently need to test a large number of animals.
💔 The cost? Approximately $3,000 for this initial testing. More might be needed later.
This testing is not optional.
This testing is how we get answers.
This testing is how we save lives.
Without it, we are left in the dark—unable to properly separate, treat, and protect the animals depending on us.
And the truth is… we simply don’t have the funds.
We are already barely scraping by.
We are doing everything we can just to keep the doors open and continue caring for the animals already in our shelter.
But this… this is bigger than what we can handle alone.
We are asking—no, we are begging—for your help.
Please, if you are able:
• Donate on this post
• Donate through our website: https://mh-humanesociety.com
• Donate in person during usual hours. Just knock on the door and we will meet you at the door since we are closed.
Every single dollar brings us closer to answers.
Every single dollar could help save a life.
This is exactly why vaccines matter. Diseases like distemper are devastating—but they are preventable. Please make sure your pets are up to date and help us protect the most vulnerable.
We are fighting for them.
Please stand with us.
