I said to my friends, “I need it to be easy, and sell quickly”, and we all agreed on black… and then I promptly pulled out orange! Zero “Ragrets”! Okay, one: that I waited almost 4 years to use this color.

My biggest hesitation has been y’all. Let’s be honest: what hue of orange you use, especially in the fall, either MAKES you, or makes you the scourge of the community! Oklahoma State, Texas, Auburn, Tennessee … y’all get a bit worked up about orange during Football season. And in Oklahoma, that orange better not be burnt, ever!

The top coat did make a difference in the outcome, at least for me, because I had (now discontinued, slightly coveted) Mineral formula, however, whether you use Poly or Wax, Copperhead Orange is freakin’ fantastic. It’s me, my theme color, the color of my life! (Too dramatic? I think not.)

Seriously though, it’s the perfect fall orange, almost pumpkin, definitely one you’ll see on the leaves soon, and one that you have to try for yourself. In case it isn’t obvious, you’ll see many pieces in this color from me!

Also, if you’ve never seen the Party Animal collection from , go check it out. Whiskey Bandit is just one of several pieces we own, but my absolute favorite. I kind of have a thing for Trash Pandas. I’m so happy that I was finally able to incorporate this guy into my staging.

Who doesn’t love a peachy dresser! Oh, and Cactus drawer liners! It’s like all of my favorite things in one package.

I’d been waiting nearly a year for the perfect piece to use this discontinued color on, and I definitely think this was it! This is also my official appeal for this color to be rereleased as a small batch! Seriously!

Available for local pickup or delivery!

This project was EXACTLY what I needed!

I cannot tell you the last time that I had a project go so smoothly or quickly. It might be never, honestly. I didn’t use a sander, I didn’t get dirty, I didn’t get hung up by all-in-one brush strokes, because there aren’t any! Literally all the things that have had me frustrated and kept me from painting for months, just 👏🏻 didn’t 👏🏻 happen👏🏻, and I’m so, so very happy!

Anywho! Here’s some nightstands, or end tables, somebody come get them! They are in practically perfect shape, solid oak, and the drawers are nice and clean. (The backs are unfinished.)

Who doesn’t love a cute little table?! This is round two for this one, I just couldn’t love round one enough to even take photos and it’s been sitting ignored since September. This golden yellow is much better than the cool blue I’d previously used, and I’m much happier with the outcome. It had overcast vibes, and now it’s sunny and warm! Available locally!

When I bought this piece, I thought it was going to be a quick and easy flip, even if it had been previously painted red. I 👏🏻 was 👏🏻 wrong 👏🏻. The red paint was everywhere: in the seems, the dents, the inside of the desk. Not to mention that under that red paint, was a red based wood stain.

I really wanted to skip the paint on this desk and go with an aged wood look, but after struggling for weeks (maybe a month) to get rid of all the paint and stain, I had to accept that it just wasn’t going to happen. I was not willing to compromise on the legs or the writing surface though, those had to be stained!

After all the sanding, I stained the entire piece an aged chestnut, and then painted the body black. I distressed the body to allow the new stain to peek through, and then finished it all off with a wax butter. The result: Perfection! 👉🏼 to see closeups of the distressing…

I just didn’t expect to love this piece as much as I do! The curves, the hardware, how the natural tones of the top pair perfectly with the paint. It’s just so perfect. It’s so earthy, classic, and now. If you are into earthy tones, this color is a must try!

This was my second attempt at making a top, and it was intimidating, but I did it. Without a planer, or table saw …. It can be done, it just takes patience, a lot of sanding, and a lot of saw dust.

~Available~

My first finish of 2024! I finished this cute sewing cabinet in a new to me chalk style paint. It went on very smooth, had great coverage, and looks fantastic. I love the versatility of these little cabinets. They work as end tables, nightstands, entryway pieces… lots of options. This one has been painted on all 4 sides, so it can sit anywhere in your space.

When I started on this project, I just needed something to be easy. I said to myself “I solemnly swear to keep it simple”, and that’s exactly what I did. I didn’t rush through this project, I didn’t obsess over small dents or imperfections, and I didn’t spend countless hours trying to get the top coat just right.

Is it flawless? No. But is it pretty and functional, absolutely! Not everything has to be perfect, and you don’t have to use a medium known for its imperfections to justify the flaws you don’t fix. Sometimes, you can give yourself a break, and just let it be simple.

It’s been a long two months since I finished my last piece. I battled burnout, vacation, two pieces that ended up in timeout, all before getting to this secretary… which also gave me problems!

Anywho, look at that wallpaper and those pulls! The hardest part of this piece was the slide outs, those things were impossible to keep from scratching and rubbing.

Make sure you checkout the before photo and see what a difference the feet make! 👉🏼
