Boho free spirited decor and accessories from one global traveler to another
I started Boho Girlfriend to revive the traditional techniques of textile making. I am passionate about sustainable and responsible fashion and often wondered how much of handmade, block printed textiles and leather products sold by large American retailers were actually made by ethnic artisans. So I packed my bags and left on a year long tour of two hubs of artisan products: Jaipur and Lahore. Both cities have a deep cultural history centuries old, mesmerizing beauty and an insane pace of life each their own. I found myself lost in the intricate floral patterns carved by block makers, thin winding streets looking for ethnic artisans, collaborating with them, learning their crafts and teaching them about the ever-changing retail landscape. On my journeys I spent a considerable time flitting around in colorful rickshaws through the hot and dusty streets, dreaming up a capsule collection that has a deep earthiness and global vibe to it. Boho Girlfriend creates authentic handmade products with an ethical low-impact production. Boho Girlfriend is for women who love to travel to exotic destinations and enjoy relaxed bohemian elements in their lifestyle. Our pieces have a distinctive style, are bold, eclectic and evocative of distant exotic cultures. All products are made by hand.
