Giving back to our community is at the heart of what we do! Our chamber staff enjoyed volunteering at Greek Fest, helping at a booth benefiting Ronald McDonald House Mobile. It was a great opportunity to support an organization that provides comfort, care, and a home away from home for families with children receiving medical treatment.

We are proud to support the organizations making a difference throughout our community and believe that serving our community goes beyond the work we do every day. Whether through volunteering, lending a helping hand, or supporting local causes, every effort makes a difference. Stronger communities are built when we show up for one another!

đź’™ INVISIBLE DISABILITIES AWARENESS WEEK đź’™
Not all disabilities are visible.

Some disabilities can be seen right away, while others may not be apparent to the people around us.

Invisible disabilities can affect a person's daily life in ways that others may never see. They can impact energy, mobility, communication, learning, mental health, pain levels, and so much more.

That’s why awareness matters.

This week we encourage our community to:
đź’™ Listen without judgment.
đź’™ Practice patience and understanding.
đź’™ Respect individual needs and accommodations.
đź’™ Remember that you never know what someone may be navigating behind the scenes.

Most importantly, let's remember that we don't have to see someone's disability to respect their experience.

We believe inclusion means creating a community where people are seen, heard, respected, supported, and valued—exactly as they are.

Because sometimes, what you see is only part of the story.

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The Mobile County Commission encourages residents to support the local organizations working to protect families, assist survivors and build safer communities.

The Mobile County Domestic Violence Task Force brings together the District Attorney’s Office, Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, Penelope House, DHR, Lifelines USA, AltaPointe and other community and law enforcement partners. Connect with the task force here: https://mobileda.org/

By raising awareness and supporting this work, we can help strengthen protections for survivors and foster safe, healthy relationships throughout Mobile County.

Our Chamber staff had the opportunity to attend the Women's Resource Center's inaugural More Than Women’s Conference last week! It was a wonderful opportunity to support an organization making a meaningful difference in our community and recognize the important work being done to empower, encourage, and provide resources to women and families throughout our area.
