This sort of danish modern side board is now categorized as complete. I scratched a drawer front while assembling it and had to sand it back to refinish. You can see a lighter patch, but it will darken up in a few weeks to catch up with the other surfaces. Those drawer fronts sat around for awhile, it’s amazing how fast cherry patinas.

I like to pull work out from the past occasionally. Here’s a mug from against a giant push pin that I made. You’d be surprised at the geometry of it. Someone put a lot of thought into this everyday object and the math unfolds like the pyramids of Giza.

Finished up this mega sideboard yesterday. Used water based graphite stain and really like the outcome. All sold oak, quite heavy.

You’re either going to watch me drop this thing on the ground or dismount it from the assembly table successfully. My usual mantra is “if I can build it, I can pick it up”. First step is to clean up these dovetails. Then sources the top. I’m waiting on hinges in the mail, so I can’t show it to you in a more complete state yet. But the doors are ready to go. Loving working with this red oak lately.
