The Minturn Shooting Range will be CLOSED ALL DAY SATURDAY July 12 and maybe SUNDAY JULY 13TH Depending on how a project to replace the fences go.
The restoration project will Start at 9:00 am Saturday morning. The Forest Service is providing pre cut pole for the project so with enough man power the job should move smoothly. Any and all volunteers are welcome.
Please wear work boots and long pants. Everyone should bring gloves a hat lots of fluids and something to eat. Framing hammers & pry bars to help remove the old fence will be helpful. The only expense is $475.00 for the proper lags to put the fence together. Any donation will be greatly appreciated. For more information on how you can help call 970 376-0644 AND LEAVE A MESSAGE and I will get back to you.
Thanks Matt

From I 70 traveling east or west get off the Minturn exit and go south 5 miles to the town of Minturn. (The big mistake people make is that they go to far. Cemetery Road is only 300 yard from entering the town; (it is the only road that crosses the Eagle River for sixty miles) turn left on Cemetery road after you cross the river the road bends right and left several times in about a ΒΌ mile. You will pass the cemetery on your left had side. Right passes the Cemetery you will see two arrows. One says Shooting Range the other says Two Elk Trail (they are both the same road.) VERY IMPORTANT! (After you pass the arrows!): you come to a fork stay left and go up hill. It is 1.1 miles to the shooting range.

It will seem longer and you can not see the range until you are right on top of it. Be brave stay on the road. The Minturn Range is a zero impact shooting range; meaning do not take trash out to shoot at and do not leave trash behind.

Thanks Matt Bayley
