A French country table which is being converted into a kitchen island, bound for Florida. Per Florida code, it has to be a certain height, and have electrical outlets.
With master craftsman Tim, we used a Japanese flush cut saw and cut apart the table legs. We split the difference needed to add the additional height, so that the design aesthetic looked more natural in relation to surrounding elements.
The milled white oak was hand doweled in. From here, I’ll use a ship boring auger to create an opening for conduit.
Then I’ll re-create the finish to match the surrounding…
I have many talented craftspeople in my corner. If you can dream it, we can most likely execute it.
