Yesterday was install day! I’ve been working on this walnut and maple custom mantle for awhile. This client purchased a burly desk from me a year ago at an arts festival. When I delivered it we discussed this mantle/shelf/cabinet project. It’s amazing to see it finally come to life!

What an honor it is to be able to salvage these logs and give the a new life as a custom piece of luxury furniture that will be passed down for generations.

Around 1917 this tree started to grow. 97 years later it was removed. Almost a decade after that it now sits as a one of a kind piece of Functional, Durable and beautiful art that should last another 97 years.

This is some of the most figured maple I’ve worked with. This was a custom order for a great client. And that big black filler in the end. It’s not epoxy. It’s steel. Inlayed flush into the table and powder coated black to match the base.
