Love this!

Eh. Things aren't super sexy out there... if you find yourself hungry but out of cash, pop in. We have "coupons" on the wall in the entryway.

We also have event fliers and other things for you to check out.

Anyway, they're there.

Perfect night for a ballgame⚾️. The Loons even pulled a W and had a grand slam . Could not have asked for a better time.

A summer day in my shoes… half barefoot, half in heels, fully chasing my dreams. It’s wild, it’s beautiful, it’s worth every step. Thanks for being here and cheering me on 💛

Most first-time homebuyers are scared silly to take that first step toward homeownership — and honestly, I get it. The unknown can be intimidating. But here’s the thing: the reality of sitting on the sidelines might actually be more terrifying than the leap itself.

Here’s a snapshot of current rental prices in Midland County:

1 bed, 1 bath: $900/month
2 bed, 1 bath: $1,000/month
Single-family home: $1,200 – $3,000/month

If you're still renting, you're missing out on the real benefits of owning a home. Here’s what you get when you buy:

✅ Stability – Say goodbye to rising rent costs.
✅ Security – No more sudden lease changes or unexpected terminations if your landlord decides to sell.
✅ Freedom – Tired of Millennial Grey? Make your space truly yours, without worrying about restrictions from your landlord.
✅ Independence – While it's nice not to be responsible for fixing things like leaky faucets or broken appliances, there's also a reliance on your landlord to address repairs in a timely manner. This can lead to frustration if you're left waiting for the landlord to "get around to it" or make the proper repairs.
✅ Pet-Friendly – Get that furry friend (or two, or three) without asking permission!
✅ Build Equity – Your monthly payments are going toward something you own.
✅ Grow Your Credit – Homeownership can be a great way to boost your financial profile.

And here's a little history lesson to put things into perspective: In 1971, interest rates were 7.33%. If you waited for rates to go down, you wouldn’t have bought a home until 1993 — 22 years later. In that time, the value of real estate quadrupled.

So, if you’re renting and wondering if this is the year to make a move, let’s grab a coffee and talk about it! You don't have to do face it alone, and I promise it's not as scary as you think (I help FTHB do this ALL THE TIME😉).

📣 Winter Recreation Update 1/8/2025

The City Forest ice rink is open and in good shape with a few thin areas. The sledding hill is a bit crusty but we will make snow until the temperature rises tomorrow. The Chalet will be open for equipment rentals and food starting Friday afternoon, January 10th.

Midland City Forest is a public park, open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., for drop-in sledding with your equipment. Due to safety concerns and long-term sustainability, the toboggan runs are closed for the foreseeable future.
