From the ground, a chimney might look like a simple brick structure. But behind every repair, installation, and restoration is a team putting in the work to keep these systems functioning properly.

Whether we're rebuilding deteriorating masonry, installing chimney liners, or repairing damaged components, every project requires attention to detail and skilled hands.

Here's a look at what goes into the work we do every day! 👷‍♂️

As temperatures drop across Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire, homeowners are getting their fireplaces ready for the colder months.

But before lighting that first fire, it's important to know what's happening inside your chimney.

Cracked flue liners, deteriorating masonry, and ventilation issues aren't always visible from the outside.

At Dave's Chimney Service, we help homeowners identify chimney concerns before they turn into bigger problems.

🧺 When was the last time you thought about your dryer vent?

We talk about chimneys all day long—but they’re not the only vents in your home that need a little attention!

Lint buildup and poor airflow in your dryer vent can make clothes take longer to dry, increase energy use, and put extra wear on your dryer.

This article from Southern Living has some great tips on what to look out for and why regular dryer vent maintenance matters. 👇

🔥 What are you actually burning in your fireplace or wood stove?

It might seem harmless to toss in cardboard, scrap wood, old furniture, or other household materials—but what you burn matters.

We came across this article that highlights some of the biggest chimney fire risks, including burning the wrong fuel, using wet or unseasoned wood, and not having the chimney swept regularly.

The wrong fuel can contribute to creosote buildup inside the flue, increasing the risk of a chimney fire.

If you use your fireplace or wood stove, this is definitely worth a quick read 👇

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Let’s end this week with this great review!

We love hearing from happy homeowners, especially after a project that helped make their chimney safer and ready for years to come. 🔥🏠

For this older home, our crew:

🔥 Installed a stainless steel flue liner for the oil burner
🧱 Filled an old thimble hole
🧱 Repaired brickwork on the chimney
🏠 Installed a new chimney cap

And here’s what the homeowner had to say:

💬 “The crew did exceptional work. They were very careful and cleaned up everything. I would hire them again and recommend that you have them come help you with your chimney repairs.”

Thank you for the kind words and for trusting Dave’s Chimney Service with your home! 💚
