How we took this basement from a blank, unfinished space… to a cozy, elevated gathering place. 🤍✨

Designed with warmth, functionality, and real life in mind — because basements should feel just as intentional as the rest of your home.

You know what you like — you just need help making it all work together.

Maybe you have a room that feels unfinished, pieces saved all over your phone, or a general idea of the style you want… but you’re not sure what actually belongs together.

That’s where Curated by HMDS comes in.

We’re building a list for people who want shoppable room looks, designer-curated finds, styling tips, and real-life decorating ideas they can use as a starting point for their own space.

Because sometimes you don’t need more random inspiration — you need a clearer direction.

One thing that comes up a lot when choosing a sofa is how to find something that looks beautiful but still makes sense for real life.

A sofa is such a big purchase, and it’s easy to fall in love with the look before checking things like fabric, construction, cushion details, removable covers, warranties, or whether it actually fits the way your home is used.

We put together a designer-curated guide with 7 sofa picks that include real-life details worth checking. It’s a good starting point if you’re sofa shopping or trying to pull together a living room that feels finished.

This design was so fun to put together!

A soft girls coastal nursery look for anyone who loves pale blue, warm natural textures, gingham pattern, scalloped details, woven lighting, and timeless nursery pieces.

We designed this shoppable nursery board to feel calm, sweet, and collected — coastal without feeling overly themed, and soft enough to grow with the room over time.

Our design philosophy is simple: invest in the pieces that shape the room, and save on the accents you can easily update later. We prioritize quality for larger foundation items like seating, tables, rugs, and lighting because these pieces have the biggest impact on how the room looks, feels, and fu...

This powder room was our chance to have a little fun. 🌊✨

Part of our Coastal Colonial Revival project, we preserved the home’s traditional character in this powder room while introducing a moodier coastal feel through dramatic wallpaper, deep navy tones, and warm brass finishes.

And for a client who loves gold… we did not hold back. 💛

Small space. Big personality. Ready to give your powder bath a glow-up? ✨ DM us to get started!

Moody, layered, and ready for spring gatherings ✨
We softened this dining room with warm neutrals and fresh greens for that effortless “gilded but grounded” feel. The mix of textures—bouclé, linen, crystal, and stone—keeps it elevated without feeling too formal.

From our Gilded Gathering project, designed for slow dinners, good wine, and even better conversation. 🍷🌿

Most buyers don’t struggle with price…
They struggle with understanding the space.

When a listing relies on a floor plan or empty room, buyers have to do the work of imagining how it lives.

Most won’t.
They scroll.

The difference isn’t the plan—
it’s how it’s presented.

Design-forward, interior designer-led visuals help buyers instantly connect with the space, stay longer, and move forward with confidence.

If you’re marketing homes (especially before they’re built), this is where the shift happens. ✨

Effortless entryway styling that feels elevated but still livable… 🤍 Throwing it back to our Highland Hills Showhome Project 🏡

Here are our tried & true design tips to recreate this look:
• Start with a grounding piece: a warm wood console adds instant warmth against crisp paneling
• Layer your art (don’t hang everything!)—leaning frames creates a relaxed, curated feel
• Mix textures over color: woven art, ceramics, and linen keep a neutral palette interesting
• Anchor with symmetry—lamps or larger objects on one side help balance the composition
• Add life with greenery for movement and softness
• Tuck in functional pieces (like ottomans) for extra seating, added softness, and without visual clutter

It’s all about quiet layers and intentional simplicity ✨

Hope this helps!

Our hearts grew on November 24, 2025 🤍

Meet Baby Ren — the sweetest little addition to our family. These past weeks have been full of love, slow days, and soaking up every tiny moment.

Hanna will be easing back into work next week, and we’re feeling deeply grateful (and inspired) to step into 2026 designing with even more intention than ever. ✨

Thank you for all the love and patience during this special season!
