Behind every great business is a passion, and for Patrick, that passion has always been quality hardwood furniture and timeless craftsmanship.

Originally from the Midwest, Patrick spent years living in Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio, where he developed an appreciation for beautifully crafted solid wood furniture. More than 27 years ago, his career as a geoscientist in the oil industry brought him south, eventually leading him to New Orleans, a city he proudly calls home.

Over the years, Patrick became increasingly inspired by the exceptional craftsmanship of Amish furniture makers. What began as a personal appreciation grew into a vision: bringing authentic, American-made hardwood furniture to families across the Gulf South.

That vision became Maple & Oak Amish Furniture. Every piece in our showroom is handcrafted in the USA from real hardwood and selected for its beauty, durability, and lasting quality.

Patrick's goal is simple: to provide a welcoming, trusted destination where customers can invest in furniture designed to be enjoyed for generations.

One of the best parts of my trip to the Ohio Amish furniture trade show wasn’t just seeing new furniture designs, it was spending time with the Amish craftsmen and families who actually build these pieces by hand.

You can feel the difference when you meet the people behind the work. Their attention to detail, humility, craftsmanship, and dedication to family is something that’s hard to describe until you see it in person.

And honestly, one of the moments that stuck with me most was walking outside and seeing rows of horses and buggies instead of cars in the parking lot. It was a reminder that many of these craftsmen still live a slower, more traditional way of life centered around faith, family, and hard work.

That experience makes the furniture feel more meaningful to me, because every table, chair, and bedroom set has a story and a craftsman behind it.

We’re excited to bring some of those pieces and the heritage behind them back home to our Louisiana Showroom and share them with all of you at Maple & Oak Amish Furniture.

I recently traveled to the 2026 Ohio Amish Furniture Trade Show and came back genuinely inspired by the level of craftsmanship on display.

One thing that stood out to me was the incredible range of styles being built by these Amish craftsmen — everything from timeless traditional pieces to clean contemporary and modern designs. There truly was something for every home and every taste.

I was especially drawn to the beautiful New England-style recreations being built in Tiger Maple by QWP. Seeing the depth and movement in that wood in person was remarkable, especially paired with authentic period-style stains and finishes that make each piece feel like a true heirloom.

It’s exciting to know we’ll soon be bringing some of these collections back home to Louisiana and sharing them here at Maple & Oak Amish Furniture's Showroom.
