What I have learned about my relationship with yoga and the practice is, its purpose is to slow down! We live in a society where Yoga has been turned into a tool to push our body, to exercise, and to move.
While sometimes Yoga I have found is truly to just be still. The purpose of the practice is to create neurological safety. And this truly should take precedence over achieving physical targets.
When we practice the art of slowing down, of listening and of honoring our body’s current capacities - we are signaling safety.
So whether you hit your mat and sit with your breath in child’s pose or put on your favorite music and run through a vinyasa flow - I challenge you to accept where you currently are today. Create an internal and external environment of safety.
