Please note the images in this post were made by Chat GPT. So with that being said Letās talk about AI⦠we love it and hate it. Why? See the breakdown below š
LOVE:
āļø It helps customers visualize their space
āļø Itās quick and convenient
āļø It can spark amazing ideas and inspiration
HATE:
ā This island in the AI photo is 13 feet long⦠but the material maxes out around 11 feet. That means seams would be required.
ā The material in the AI render doesnāt actually match the slab photo uploaded. AI changes movement, colors, and veining constantly.
ā While matching veins this closely can 98% be done⦠do you know how many extra slabs may need ordered to make it happen?
A kitchen like this may normally take 3ā4 slabs following industry standards and best material usage. To get āPinterest perfectā vein matching? You could potentially double that slab count fast.
ā That gorgeous full-height backsplash? It likely canāt go in as one single piece. Why? Think about the size, weight, installers, equipment, and the scooping motion it would take just to slide it into place. Do you know how much that would weigh? š
Unless the upper cabinets were left uninstalled until after the stone went in, it becomes an even harder task. And even then⦠this wall is longer than the actual slab size, meaning seams would still be required.
ā And what happens if the kitchen is on a second floor⦠or thereās a tight turn from the front door? These pieces still have to physically fit into the home and be safely installed.
AI is AMAZING for inspiration. We use it too. But inspiration and real-world fabrication are two very different things.
There are so many factors that only trained professionals can help guide you through ā seams, slab sizing, weight, layout, transportation, installation access, material usage, and overall project cost.
Thatās why working with an experienced fabricator matters. We donāt just make pretty pictures⦠š
