Quick post of these vintage waterfall chests transformed into a medium, warm, vintage modern vibe! This project pushed me beyond my carpentry skill set! (See last pic) They had no bottom or base frame, just a visible bottom drawer on side drawer slides. They had to be cut down, squared, glued, and leveled before adding a base structure for the new 4 inch turned bun style feet. The veneer was peeling quarter-sawn oak which I replaced with 3 sheets of white oak veneer 💰💰💰, not to mention the time invested cutting, applying and sanding the edges to perfection😰. New oak edge banding went on as well. I sealed with Enduro sanding sealer, followed by Minwax special walnut stain that got a bit splotchy on top😩 Yes, disaster struck so many times on this literal rebuild from the studs up. I was able to use toner to level out the color and am happy with the end result!!👏🏻🙌🏻. I used nylo-tape on the vintage drawer slides and they are as smooth as butter! Vintage brass ring pulls and a vintage inspired paper finished off this modern design. How did I do??🤎 (Decor is first pic is AI)
