Good morning, Comet Followers,

One major change this fall is that our lessons are now 40 minutes long instead of 30 minutes. We piloted this change this summer, and the extra time improved student learning and gave students more time to develop the core skills needed to become better swimmers and feel more comfortable in the water. Each lesson session still has 8 lessons, but they will run for 40 minutes: 4:00-4:40 and 4:50-5:30. We also built in a small break for transition between lessons this fall.

Session 1 will be September 14-October 8 (levels 1-3)
Session 2 will be October 26-November 16; registration is active on September 10th. (Levels 1-5 (no lessons on Veterans Day)

Starting October 12th, we are piloting a Mid/High Energy Aqua Training program. This instructor-led water workout program is designed to improve cardiovascular fitness by using water to naturally increase resistance and reduce load on the body. The class requires registration, is free, and will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:30 am-10:30 am, starting October 12th.

1) Will submerge while relaxed for at least 5 seconds, but cannot float relaxed (front and back) on the surface without support

I hope everyone had a great weekend with the nice weather. For this week, we have lap swimming Monday-Wednesday 7:00 am- 8:15 am, Serobics Monday and Wednesday 9:00 am-10:00 am, and Tuesday 10:30 am- 11:30 am.

Good afternoon. I hope the summer has been good. We are open this week, but with a limited schedule, as not all of our guards are back in town yet. This week, we have lap swim 7 am-8:15 am on Tuesday and Wednesday, and Water Aerobics Tuesday 10:30 am- 11:30 am, and Wednesday 9:00 am- 10:00 am. We will be closed Thursday and Friday. I am working on the schedule for August 10-24, and the fall program will be posted soon.
