I have seen a lot of subpar Upholstery but this one takes the cake. Cut their piece wrong, very sloppily hand stitched a patch on it. Sprayed a lacquer stain over the existing color without doing any prep work. Needless to say it didn’t stick. The inside back is nothing more than a lumpy mess. And this by a so-called “professional”. My advice when having a piece reupholstered by someone you don’t know, get references. Ask to see what they are working on now or a finished piece!
Gonna take it down to the frame. Refinish the wood and upholster. Will post pics when it’s ready.

As much as we hated to do it, we made the decision at the first of the year to no longer reupholster reclining furniture. This decision was not made lightly and was based on myriad factors.
