Yesterday I realized that while I ran a hose out of the barn, Stacey positioned herself to keep the sheep in(I need them dry to shear). I’m so appreciative of her!

I love peaking at Mrs. B’s fleece to see how it’s coloring (she’s got the Ag gene) since she’s Musket and will fade out, but the only time I can get a good look is when she’s napping. Bonus pics of Silly Billy and Fluffy Pillow’s fiber, I was very happy to see keeping them outside did keep them fairly clean.

Sommarang Piper and her daughter AllenCreek Mauren O'Hara decided they didn’t like their suitor, and went over (though?) the pasture gate to be with WhitePine T. Gate gap covered, dates noted. First time this has happened, I’m really hoping I don’t have to add on to the fence.

I split 22 ewes between WhitePine T and Sommarang Seamus, and they got right to business. WPT is a spotted grey Ag and Seamus a Katmoget. I’m really looking forward to a greater diversity of lambs next year!

Likely possibilities include Katmoget, gulgomet, black, Moorit, (possibly emsket??), white, Ag(fading), spots, and various combinations thereof.

Just a lovely day this morning.

These four went to new flocks in the last week. Sir Edward up to northernmost WI, where the hardier the sheep the better. Midas, with his lusterous wool, to stud in a spinners flock. Rough House, to be a fiber pet. And lastly, Bella the East Friesian X, who went back to her previous home where her talents as a dairy sheep will be better appreciated.

That leaves only three ram lambs for my freezer! 😮
