Check out this gorgeous Red Oak custom made cabinet. The Spring Oak stain made the wood grain pop. The bottom drawer slides out for record storage. We delivered it home to Wabash on Friday.

BREAKING: 17-Year-Old Files to Run for Miami County Council

A local teenager is aiming to make Indiana history.

Kyron Sanders, a 17-year-old recent high school graduate from Amboy, has officially filed to run for Miami County Council District 1 as an independent candidate. If elected, Sanders would become the youngest person ever elected to office in Indiana and one of the youngest elected officials in the nation.

According to campaign information provided to Channel 27, Sanders’ platform focuses on government transparency and accountability, property taxes, infrastructure, economic development, and the ongoing discussion surrounding proposed data center regulations.

Sanders is also an incoming Purdue University student planning to study Political Science and Environmental Policy.

Regardless of political views, it is uncommon to see someone this young step forward and seek public office. The campaign is expected to draw attention across Indiana as voters consider whether age should be viewed as a limitation or a fresh perspective in local government.
