IN-DEPTH: Meet the Suspects - Tabatha B.

Today we introduce you to Tabatha B., co-owner and operator of Postboxy, and employer of Fathead Fred. Not only was Tabatha the person who found Fathead Fred murdered, but she is also the one who called the police that fateful morning.

As the person who discovered the crime, it is standard procedure to consider that person as a prime suspect, and in this case the fact that Tabatha B. is always the first person on the property in the mornings, without anyone to confirm her alibi, raises suspicions further.

When questioned by police, Tabatha B. is stated as having said her relationship with Fathead Fred was "complicated", but did not give further details to explain her meaning. The 911 call made by Tabatha that morning, as well as police records documenting her interrogation, demonstrate that Tabatha B. seemed to be extremely distraught at the death of Fathead Fred, with her wails and sobs clearly heard throughout the recorded 911 call.

This reporter discovered several additional concerning facts when investigating Tabatha B's background, such as the fact that she used to be an actress, and that she was also the person responsible for Fathead Fred's employment at Postboxy, having designed, printed and put Fred together in order to sell fatheads.

As to motive, perhaps Tabatha B. was not pleased with how many fatheads Fred was selling, and as so many parents have said to their children thought, "I brought you into this world, and I can take you right back out". She certainly has no supported alibi and has full access and know-how with all the tools and potential weapons within the store.

Did Tabatha B. take out Fathead Fred using scissors, cutters and pointy tools at Postboxy because fathead sales were lagging? Was she simply "acting" distraught to deflect attention away from herself? We can't know for sure until the investigation is complete, but we leave the facts to the jury of public opinion.

Stay tuned for our next suspect deep dive as we look into Timmy R., owner of The Tire Store.

IN-DEPTH: Meet the Suspects - Honey

Welcome back to our deep dive into each of the suspects in the Who Killed Fathead Fred murder investigation. Today we explore the evidence and possible motives that may prove that Honey the Postboxy mascot cat to have taken out the beloved Fathead Fred.

Honey has been with Postboxy since November of 2025, and according to the owners has been a decent mascot, though they do say that she is frequently "moody" and has been known to "snap" and "growl" when in such a mood. When we attempted to get a statement from Honey, she refused comment and issued a low growl before she turned and ran under a desk.

During our investigation we also came across a potentially devastating tip from an anonymous source who tells this reporter that Honey is apparently NOT her real name. Our source states that they worked with her at the Mannford Animal Shelter, where she was known as "Helen". The source states that while they are not sure even that is her real name, as she seems to have been homeless prior to her employment at the Animal Shelter, we are told that "Helen" was short for "Hell'on Wheels". We wonder what Honey's past is hiding?

As for the evidence seeming to point to Honey as a prime suspect, the forensic officers identified "scratch" marks that seem to look as though they were created by possible cat claws on Fathead Fred's left cheek, as well as additional cuts and/or scratches. The presence of shredded paper found around Fathead Fred has left investigators baffled, though there is little question that cats are well known to play with paper and to shred it.

For motive, the police department released a statement after booking and questioning Honey, in which was written:

"The Police Department questioned suspect Honey this afternoon, and after having been read her rights, she refused to answer any questions. We asked her whether she would like to have an attorney present, to which she replied, 'Gggrrrrrr....rewr, roooowr...hiiiissssssssss'. We detained her in a holding cell until she was released on bond back to the Postboxy owners."

Did Honey murder Fathead Fred during the night using nothing but her own paws, claws and teeth, possibly because Fred learned something of her dark past as "Hell'on"? This reporter can't say, but we leave it to the jury of public opinion.

Stay tuned for our next in-depth review of suspect Tabatha B., co-owner of Postboxy.

IN DEPTH - Meet the Suspects: Miguel M.

We begin our deep dive into each of the possible suspects in the heinous murder of Postboxy employee Fathead Fred with Miguel M. A Mannford-raised young man who attended Mannford schools. He has worked at The Tire Shop next to Postboxy for several years and seems by all accounts to be a typical 20-something.

When asked what he thought about Fathead Fred, Miguel is quoted as saying, "Fathead Fred? Is that the guy that's always bringing me his nasty old, flat tires and wanting me to fix them for free? That guy is crazy...". Despite his claimed unfamiliarity with the victim, Miguel was booked and questioned regarding his whereabouts and possible motives for ending Fathead Fred's life.

The evidence certainly seems to point to young Miguel, with the forensic team identifying both a torn business card for The Tire Shop, and an apparent smear of ketchup on the victim's face. While the ketchup did not originally implicate anyone, when the police came to arrest Miguel, they found him eating his favorite lunch of a large, toasted BLT with extra ketchup.

During questioning, Miguel did acknowledge that he did indeed know Fathead Fred, telling police that on the night in question he was having band practice at The Tire Store, with his bandmates able to confirm his alibi. He said he saw Fathead Fred still working well into the night, but did not speak to him, and left the property around 11pm. Police estimate the crime to have happened between midnight and 3am, which would remove Miguel as a suspect if his alibi checks out.

Police have stated a possible motive for Miguel to have wanted to harm Fathead Fred to be a heated, though one-sided, exchange between the two, in which Miguel offered to help Fred with his "flatness". Miguel says he was simply trying to be a good neighbor, but admits that when Fathead Fred ignored him, he eventually lost his temper and yelled, "Ignore me, will ya'? There's no need to be rude, Fred! Do we need to take this outside?!?", while he was holding a metal tire tool.

Did young Miguel murder Fathead Fred with a tire tool after band practice because Fred blew him off? The evidence is strong, while Miguel insists he was framed.

For now, we will leave the facts to the jury of public opinion. Stay tuned for more of our in-depth coverage of Who Killed Fathead Fred, as we next cover Honey of Postboxy.

FRIDAY EVENING NEWS - 6:00 EDITION:

With your latest update in the ongoing investigation into who killed Postboxy employee Fathead Fred.

Last night and today, the police department rounded up each of the suspects connected to the grizzly death of Fathead Fred. Each were booked into Mannford jail, and have now posted bond.

The police have determined that whoever is responsible for this crime had to have a key to the building and Fathead Fred's trust, which leaves 5 suspects: Christian B. and Tabatha B., owners of Postboxy, Honey, beloved mascot of Postboxy, Timmy R. and Miguel M. both of The Tire Store next to Postboxy. Each of the suspects were questioned while in police custody.

Each day next week, beginning Monday, we will go in-depth on each of the suspects, cover their possible motives, and the evidence that potentially points to each suspect. For now, we will admit that each suspect seems to have evidence pointing to them.
