You know, sometimes I amaze myself! I saw a picture of a cabinet that would fit my space, but it didn't completely fit. Then I saw another part that would work, I just had to incorporate them together while figuring out the size I needed to make it work. Today it all came together!

Time to start working on there bar top!

I was going to do a post, but Saturday came and went.

While the barrel head was engraving upstairs I was knocking out 35 tap handles for Sap House Meadery NoCo And to think last year I was concerned these wouldn't be a hit!

I also found some time to start laying out the accent wall for my bar cabinet. Before I go further I'll sand the strips of cedar then stain them to give it a bit more pop.

So I've been keeping this one under wraps for a while because it's for me. So far, I've only ever built cabinets for my shop and one I built for myself 4 or 5 years ago. Which was a steep learning curve.

I started with 3/4" prefinished cabinet grade maple plywood. (You can't buy this at a box store) Thankfully, I got a great deal but it was still $100 a sheet. The face frame and doors are hard maple to keep the look consistent. Through the process I test fit each set of doors before finishing them. It was a slow process, but the results speak for themselves.

The last picture is the inspiration for my build. Instead of shelves in the I'll do an accent wall in between and will hang the pictures you see on top of the cabinet. That's the one and only Phil Esposito, Bobby Orr and Bobby Clark in the front picture. with the 1976 Canada Cup team photo behind them

I've already worked out LED lighting for the top pieces and just need to find a suitable top for the bottom cabinets.

A friend's mom is moving into a new home with a good sized farmers porch. The house is white with green trim and the porch really needs a swing. I burned the pine a bit to highlight the grain before staining it. Green trim with a bit of weathered looking white should fit the space perfectly! I also had to take it for a test drive, figuring if it held me it would be fine for everyone else!

Its only Tuesday and been a very productive week! Sometimes I like my job so much I take part in sponsoring a work fundraising event! Why not be associated with a great organization helping Veterans in more ways than one? Plus, I got to deliver a set of chairs not too far away.

How's this spring been? Honestly, busiest one yet! Picture 1 is the second set of the season in their new home.
Picture 2 is the set getting delivered on the 22nd
Pictures 3 &4 are the set currently on the table and getting delivered (hopefully) before the end of the month.
Unpictured is the next set that's already sold as well.
A brand new beer fridge has made its way into there shop as well as a gently used recliner.
Finally, do you think anyone will believe this box fell into the backseat of my truck. Like a cute stray? Maybe a rescue?

Had a productive weekend. Made sure to take a moment to remember friends lost over the years. But mostly hunkered down in the shop. I was feeling pretty good about getting a set of of whiskey rockers close to done. Then I got 3 more orders! 🤯 Good thing I have a stock pile of barrels!

I've gotta say, my is still the game changer it was when I bought it 8 years ago.

An awesome customer sent me a pic of the barrel cabinet I made for him. Plus, I always appreciate customers that tip in brown liquor!

Got a bit of an upgrade in tablesaws. It might take a bit to figure out the dust collection on this tablesaw, but it's definitely more powerful than my old one.

Time to make chairs!
