It has been a few years since I've been able to do any type of woodworking but hopefully in the next few months that will change. I now have a nice shop just need to stock it with tools and wood. Wish me luck.

"Shou-sugi ban" is a Japanese technique for preserving wood by burning it. Traditionally it is completely charred then cleaned and rubbed with a natural oil. I only lightly burned mine and love the way it looks. I will post more pics and some video of the technique I used when I get done with all of it.

I bet no one even comes close to guessing what this is going to be.
