City Meets Country

City Meets Country I dabble in a bit of everything, but have been focusing on earrings and laser engraved items lately. Thanks for stopping by!

It all began with handmade originals for children and parents; hooded towels, burp cloths, nursing covers. As my children grow, I find myself making different things and delving into new projects. Over the last few years I've added an electronic cutter, heat press, and various woodworking tools to feed my passion for crafting. I love making personalized creations with fabric, wood, or paint and am

eager to take on new projects or aid you in taking on your own. Peruse my photos and you will see the wide range of projects that I have attempted (and managed to remember to take photos of).

Working on some restocks today and I could use YOUR input!

What direction should I go with earrings next?
✨ Colors?
✨ Sizes?
✨ Shapes?
✨ Seasonal themes?
✨ Studs? Dangles?
✨️ Smaller dangles? Texas-sized dangles?
✨ Druzy studs or leather studs - what size do you love: 8mm, 10mm, or 12mm?

Drop your suggestions in the comments! Your feedback helps guide what I make, and the more you interact with our posts, the more Facebook will actually show them to you. 😉

We try to minimize our posts to one or two a day (or less) because we don’t want to overwhelm your feed—just keep a little rhythm going so you don’t miss the good stuff. 💛

Sad to leave the sea 🌊 but anxious to get back to making all the things! 🐰🎨🖌

Jen returns from her travels on Monday and has set aside the whole week for DIY Sign Party prep — so now is the perfect time to get your choices in!

👉 Click the links in comments in to register for the March 7th event at The Stage (Meg's Burgers and Brews) in Tabor or March 9th at Classic Cafe in Malvern to choose your sign and/or project options.

If you want something different than the designs listed, send us a private message. Jen does have WiFi at sea and will see your message so she can help coordinate exactly what you’re wanting.

We absolutely LOVE creating one-of-a-kind pieces, and we want you to walk away with something that feels just right for you. If you see something you love, say something!

Bonus points for inspiration photos — visuals always help bring your idea to life. 💡🎨

Can’t wait to create with you!

🌾✨ Friendly PSA from City Meets Country (and Blossom & Beam!) ✨🌾

Hey friends! It’s been a minute since I’ve popped on here, but consider this your gentle nudge from your favorite City-Meets-Country girl — go oil those engraved cutting boards! 😄

Whether you had one made with a handwritten family recipe, a special date, or another meaningful sentiment, properly caring for wood keeps those memories looking beautiful for years to come.

I’m sharing some before & after photos so you can see the magic — thirsty, dry boards transformed back to rich, glowing keepsakes. 💛
Why it matters:
✨ Oiling prevents cracking and warping
✨ Revives the grain + deepens the engraving
✨ Protects your heirloom pieces from moisture
✨ Keeps your board safe for everyday use

If you’re wondering what product to use, I highly recommend Tried & True Original Wood Finish — a food-contact-safe blend of polymerized linseed oil and beeswax. I sourced it from Amazon.

Take ten minutes today to give your board some love — your future self (and your future charcuterie spreads) will thank you. 🧀😉

✨ HUGE EARRING BLOWOUT! ✨
I’m clearing out inventory to make room for so many new shapes and styles—so all single-layer teardrop leather earrings (plus any others I add to the sale rack) are now:

💥 BUY 4 FOR $20! 💥

Get them before they’re gone—many of these prints are the very last ones and won’t be restocked.
I’m not letting myself make more leather earrings until this batch is GONE… so help me make space for new designs!

This was my Small Business Saturday sale, but the weather had other plans—so YOU get another chance!

Actual product colors may differ from photos due to lighting conditions and screen display settings. Sale offered exclusively in-store.

Small Business Saturday… and Iowa said, “Let’s add snow for drama.” 🙃❄️
Honestly, could this year make things any harder for small businesses? I’ve been stocking up and busting my tail, and of course the weather wants to test our commitment now.

But here’s the good news:
My City Meets Country leather earrings are ALWAYS available inside Blossom and Beam —thanks to my partnership with Sidney Morrison of Lil Cactus Blossoms and a couple of other awesome makers. And I’ve got a ton of beautiful stock ready to go.

So yes, a sale is still happening.
But to be fair to the people who prefer staying warm and alive on slick roads, I’m extending it through the week. And if the weather keeps people home tomorrow, I’ll run a big final round again next Saturday when Tabor, Malvern, and Glenwood are all in full Hallmark Christmas mode. 🎄✨

Sharing Blossom & Beam’s post below — shop when it’s safe, shop when it’s convenient, and thank you for always supporting your local makers. We appreciate you more than you know. 💛

Tonight is Customer Appreciation Night at AgriVision Equipment in Pacific Junction, Iowa, and I’ve been busy making a fresh batch of tractor stud earrings for the event. 🚜✨

While I was working, I took a little detour and made a pair of blue tractor studs for a very special little girl I know—because her daddy drives a blue tractor. 💙

People often say that if you want to be profitable in crafting, you need to niche down and stick strictly to what sells. But honestly? The smile I know she’ll have when she sees those earrings is exactly why I do this.

I love creating unique pieces for unique people—things you won’t find anywhere else. For me, it’s not just about the money. It’s about the moments, the connections, and the joy that comes from making something special for someone who will truly cherish it.

Join us tonight 🛍 from 5️⃣ to 8️⃣pm to get started on some gift shopping 🎄🎁 from local vendors.

Kids will get hands-on as they paint a fun themed project to go along with the story. While their masterpieces dry, we’ll enjoy a cozy group read-aloud of How to Catch a Turkey.
