I've been getting quite a few messages about people wanting to place orders, or asking if we are open, and I just want to take a moment and chat with everyone, and clarify any confusion.💜 Last fall, we closed The Cozy Cavy. At that time I wasn't sure if it would be a temporary thing, or permanent, I only knew I needed to allow myself to take a break from it. Since opening The Cozy Cavy in 2006 so many things have changed, which is understandable. Things do change. I've changed.
I struggled greatly after the tornado in 2011 whether we would reopen or not. Feeling the loss of so many of my personal pets, it was a hard time. Once we moved back home, I felt like it was only right to reopen the business after the outpouring of love and support that was shown to us following the tornado. We did. We tried to make the best of it, but honestly my heart was just broken and I found myself no longer in the same place that I once was.
The Cozy Cavy has always been more than a business to me and my husband. It was us helping animals, helping rescues and helping others. It was a stressful job sometimes. It's something that had long hours, not only sewing orders and taking care of our personal pets, but also helping others, answering emails and trying to help critters all over the U.S. Some days I felt so stressed and overwhelmed it just got the best of me. As time has gone by, I've come to the conclusion that for myself and my family it's time to let The Cozy Cavy go. This is a decision that hasn't been made lightly and I hope everyone understands that.
I want to thank everyone for your support, love and help over the years. The Cozy Cavy has always been more than beds and cage pads, it's also been a community. It's a place where we all came together and helped the piggies have a better place to rest their heads and sleep. It's something I'm forever grateful for, and something I will miss. It was an amazing journey and I'm so thankful to have shared it with all of you. 💕 --Marsha and Doug
