Another bolster and a revisit to a rocker! I made a boxed cushion earlier in the year for a friend's thrift store find. After living with it for a while she discovered the beautiful wicker in the back was more beautiful to look at then to sit on. We came up with a pillow size that would allow comfort and still be able to see a bit of the wicker over the top. She also had fabric she found at Historic Macon's Sale and we came up with a bolster for her guest room.

I was extra lucky when working with both of these beautiful fabrics my client purchased at Carol's Linens. First of all, I had the pleasure of working with and looking at this beautiful fabric for a couple of weeks and I had a space in my house that the long cushion fit it to take a few pictures. The long cushion was a remake of the client's current cushion. I made the six pillows using feather down inserts with zippers in the bottom so she can use both sides.

Here is a mid-century modern swivel rocker that recently went home. My client wanted to change the design a bit and I like the more streamlined look. I did a little repair on the springs and the legs, and somehow got the base to actually swivel again. (Thanks, WD-40!) New foam throughout makes it a nice seat to rock on. The fabric is Sugarshack in Neutral from Revolution Performance Fabrics. It's a nice neutral with an interesting texture. Teddy likes to supervise the outside 'before' work 🐶

There is something about this chair that is so lovely. I can’t quite put my finger on it. It was sitting in the corner of my workroom on the night before it went home and I would stop to admire it every time I would walk by. It has such a nice presence. My client found it at Carolyn Crayton’s estate sale last year, later found her fabric at Malone’s, and then (thankfully) found out about me from a referral. Now it is sitting in the corner of her office. I even had the opportunity to come up with a custom cushion for a stool that she got from her Mother.

Check out this fabric my client got from St. Jude's, it's so full of charm. She opted for a contrast green velvet welt cord and I think it really makes it pop. A new life for this nice chair.

I had the nicest thing happen to me this morning. Modern Fabrics wrote a wonderful blog post about my Corbin Curbside chair. It's still up at Payne Mill Antique Mall. I'm always tempted to bring it home with me every time I go up there. It is such a comfortable chair! The fabric is amazing. Modern Fabrics has a greenish one in stock if anyone has any ideas about doing something with it.

I have been working on a lot of rockers lately. I think it’s because rocking chairs hold dear memories for a lot of us. This particular rocker was used to rock my client’s children to sleep when they were young. Now it’s ready to rock another generation.
