Over my spare time this weekend, I made this full sized Flag (please forgive the stripes flaw). I’ve wanted to make one for years. It’s never been that I couldn’t, or didn’t know how, I just never got around to it. While I was in the tedious task marking out for the stars I began to really think about Memoral Day. That this is the day we need to stop and truly remember and honor those whom have laid down their lives in service to our country to protect us from tyranny and subjugation. I do not know anyone personally that has made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms, but my thoughts were with them during the process. I plan to make one specific flag every year from now on for Memorial Day, and I challenge myself to read 1,000 names from the Memorial wall ( http://thewall-usa.com ) while I take the time to carve out the stars so that their names are never forgotten! I hope everyone has a safe and great Memorial Day! And take 2 minutes today, visit the wall website, and read the names form a section, say a prayer, and say thank you! God Bless America!!!
