​Protect Your Home from Winter Chills!
​Dear Heritage Residents,
​As the weather outside turns frightful and the holiday season approaches, we want to wish you all a joyful time! We also want to remind everyone of a few essential steps to protect your homes, especially your plumbing, from freezing temperatures.
​Broken pipes are never fun! Imagine going to take a nice, warm shower only to find there is zero water. Let's work together to make sure this holiday season is stress-free and dry!
​🥶 Essential Freeze Protection Checklist 🥶
​Please take the following actions immediately as temperatures drop:
​💧 Let Faucets Drip: Allow one or two indoor faucets (especially those on exterior walls) to flow with a slow, steady drip. This keeps water moving in the pipes and relieves pressure.
​🚫 Disconnect Outdoor Hoses: Be sure to disconnect and properly store all outdoor water hoses. If you leave them attached, water trapped inside can freeze, backing up and causing the spigot and pipe to burst.
​🌡️ Maintain Indoor Heat: Set your home's thermostat to at least 65 degrees Fahrenheit, even when you are away. This is crucial for keeping interior walls and the space around your pipes warm.
​🚪 Open Cabinet Doors: For cabinets located on exterior walls, especially those under kitchen or bathroom sinks, open the doors. This allows the warm air from inside your home to circulate and reach the pipes.

Don’t worry residents I am monitoring the conditions at the park and monitoring ice accumulation on trees power lines … we are okay right now and pray duke gets the power on asap !! So glad we did the tree maintenance last year ! Be safe and keep water dripping below freezing temperatures always !
