✨Sometimes all you need is faith and a vision✨
For the first time in a long time, I did a piece for myself. This antique china cabinet came out of an old farm house in Bedford, Kentucky. It was likely a piece many people would pass over due to how it looked cosmetically. You can see the original condition in the last photo. Lucky for me, being a furniture artist allows me to see a piece, spark a vision, and then bring it to life.
This small corner/wall in our front sitting room has been the final part of the room that I’ve been putting off taking care of. There was always an awkward little bookshelf over there with our printer on top of it. Yes, shocking, I know, we have a printer still lol. I wanted something over there that flowed with the rest of my carefully curated room. So when I saw this cabinet, I knew it would be perfect and jumped on it.
I did not do a full strip and refinish. I simply restored the original finish with one of my favorite products, Restor-A-Finish. I sprayed the hardware gold because it was an ugly dull silver, even after cleaning it. I lined the drawer with a gorgeous floral paper. I styled the shelves with my staging items that I pulled out of storage, and it perfectly showcases my love for all things old and new. I am simply obsessed. 🤎
